Japanese I (4.0 units)

Basic Japanese conversation practice, basic grammar and building proficiency of reading and writing Hiragana and Katakana (Japanese alphabetical systems) and some basic kanji (Chinese characters).
  • Note: Students with previous exposure to Japanese are required to take the placement exam. After Week 1, registration in this course requires instructor approval and D-clearance. Check "Exceptions" in the final exam schedule for the time and date of the final exam for this course.
