USC University of Southern California Schedule of Classes

Summer Financial Aid

Limited summer financial aid is available to USC students who qualify for available programs. All programs, except Summer Federal Work-Study, require enrollment in the summer term. For more information on financial aid or any of the programs listed here, visit www.usc.edu/financialaid. Contact your academic department directly for information on departmental aid that may be available for summer school. We encourage you to take advantage of the financial resources USC has to offer and are happy to help answer any questions you may have. Financial aid counselors are available by email, in person or by phone. For more information, visit www.usc.edu/contactfao.

Summer Federal Work-Study

Eligible continuing students can earn up to a designated amount through the Summer Federal Work-Study program. You do not need to be enrolled in summer school to participate, but must apply by March 31, 2010, and meet other eligibility criteria. The required application form can be found online at www.usc.edu/financialaid.

Summer Loans

The following loan programs may be available to eligible students who enroll at least half time in the summer term: Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Federal Stafford loans, the Federal PLUS Loan (for parents of dependent undergraduate students) and the Federal Graduate PLUS Loan (for graduate and professional students). Other private financing programs are also available and may not require half-time enrollment.

Required application forms can be found at www.usc.edu/financialaid.

Note: You should apply for your loan(s) at least six weeks before the start of your first summer session. Not all students qualify for a summer loan. If you are relying on a summer loan to pay for your summer class(es), we strongly recommend that you apply early so that we can determine your eligibility before the deadline to withdraw from your class(es).

Summer Federal Pell Grant

To be considered for a summer Federal Pell Grant, you must enroll at least half-time in the summer term. The required Summer Federal Pell Grant application can be found at www.usc.edu/financialaid.

Summer Cal Grant Programs

Continuing undergraduate students who receive Cal Grant funds may request that a portion of their funds be used for the summer session. For more information about summer Cal Grants, visit www.usc.edu/financialaid.
