Directed Research in Biomedical Science
Section 41416
- Note: The CHLA Track provides students with the chance to engage in research in one of the leading pediatric hospitals in the country. This option is designed to provide both an introduction to the fundamentals of clinical research and direct exposure to clinical medicine and clinical research projects in the CHLA Emergency Medicine Department. Starting Fall 2018, MEDS-490 CHLA will offer a second section: Community Health Advocates Team (CHAT). A maximum of 12 students will be given the opportunity to participate in this new section, where they will learn to operate the navigation desk in the emergency department, allowing them to understand social determinants of health while also providing them an opportunity for clinical experience. Once all spaces have been assigned in both the CHLA and CHAT sections, student requests for D-Clearances will be placed on a wait list.
CHLA and CHAT Section: Students can only opt for 4 units in this course. Please contact our program email at mhcs@usc.edu for D-Clearance. Once all spaces have been assigned, student requests will be placed on a wait list. Students must be at least at sophomore level and have completed all prerequisites to qualify for D-Clearance. - Session Dates (session code 001)
