Financial Aid Entrance Loan Counseling Requirement

Students applying for a Federal Direct Loan and/or Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan at USC for the first time must satisfy an entrance loan counseling requirement prior to the first disbursement of their loan. For details, visit financialaid.usc.edu/loans.

Financial Aid Exit Loan Counseling Requirement

Students must satisfy exit loan counseling requirements when they graduate, withdraw or cease to be enrolled at least half-time, if they received any of the following loan funds for study at USC: Federal Direct Loans, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans, Health Professions Student Loans or Loans for Disadvantaged Students. Financial Aid Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment

Students applying for a Federal Direct Loan and/or Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan at USC must complete an Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment each year prior to the first disbursement of their loan. For details, visit financialaid.usc.edu/loans.

Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirement

As you plan your academic courses for the next term, keep in mind the number of units you will need to maintain satisfactory academic progress for financial aid. The number of units for which you enroll should allow you to meet GPA requirements, successfully complete 67 percent of cumulative units attempted and complete your degree within the maximum time frame allowed.
