- Note: DANCE FOR ZOOM FATIGUE: 7 dance styles, 5 world-class instructors: A semester introducing you to a variety of dance forms and movement experiences for all levels, including Contemporary, Jazz, Gaga, Tap, Indian Bhangra, Ballroom, and African, along with guided Movement Meditations, Sound Bath Improvisations, and live drumming. MINDFULNESS FOR DANCERS: This course will introduce you to mindfulness and other practices supportive to the dancer. It will also expose you to yoga and its associated practices, Gaga, Contemplative Dance Practice, embodied meditation, and other somatic forms. RHYTHM NATIONS: Experience all the diverse technique classes you've been dying to take in ONE course, including African, Bollywood, Kathak, Latin, and Tap. MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE TECHNIQUES: Learn iconic musical theatre repertoire from both stage and screen along with foundational techniques and the practice of generating choreography through task-based exercises and improvisation. DANCE MASTERS FORUM: Investigate the intersection of visionary people and societal forces shaping dance practice and performance. Each class, engage in conversations with leading artists in the field, who offer their stories, perspectives, and a glimpse into their craft. ICONIC DANCE FILMS OF THE 20TH CENTURY: Each week, watch an iconic dance film (from "Flashdance" to "Singin' in the Rain" to dance documentaries) and discuss the choreographic and cinematic strategies, as well as how dance stories have evolved. LAUNCH YOUR CAREER IN DANCE AND THE PERFORMING ARTS: Learn fundamental concepts, approaches to career development, and management, while acquiring tools and financial skills. Lectures will help you bring awareness of artistic identity and business practices to advance your short- and long-term career goals. INTRO TO COMMERCIAL DANCE: This course focuses on important commercial dance industry facets (from auditions to casting to agents) and will include several practice-based master classes (i.e. Heels).
