Final Examinations Schedule

Final Examination Dates

May 4-11, 2016

Last Day of Classes: Friday, April 29

Study Days: Saturday, April 30 – Tuesday, May 3

No final examinations may be scheduled on Study Days.

Instructions

  1. ALL INSTRUCTORS MUST ADHERE TO THE FINAL EXAMINATION SCHEDULE. No deviations from this schedule are permitted for those classes having a final examination unless authorized in advance by the Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures (CAPP). Except under extremely extraordinary circumstances, final examinations should not be rescheduled for a date prior to the first day scheduled for final examinations. CAPP will not consider any request for rescheduling final examinations without unanimous written consent of all students in the class. No student in a course with a final examination is permitted to omit or anticipate a final examination, and no instructor is authorized to permit a student to do so. For graduate courses having a final examination, the examination will be during the final examination period according to the final examination schedule. Rescheduling of final examinations must be approved by the dean of the academic unit for sound academic reasons.
  2. Plan in advance to avoid scheduling conflicts in your final exams. If you are scheduled for two final exams at the same time, you should request to take one of the exams at a different time. If you are scheduled for more than two final exams in one day, you may request to take one of the exams on an alternate date. In either situation you must contact the professors involved to request accommodations. If accommodations cannot be arranged, you should contact Testing Services at testing@usc.edu or (213) 740-7166 for assistance.

Make-Up Final Examinations Policy

When a final examination falls at a time that conflicts with a student’s observance of a holy day, faculty members must accommodate a request for an alternate examination date at a time that does not violate the student’s religious creed. A student must discuss a final examination conflict with the professor no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled examination date to arrange an acceptable alternate examination date.
