USC University of Southern California Schedule of Classes

Summer Housing

TrojanHousing, located in PSX, offers facilities to accommodate the needs of anyone interested in living near USC for the summer who is a member of one of the following eligible groups: (1) students, faculty or staff of USC; or (2) any individual enrolled or participating in a USC-sponsored program. Enrollment in a USC summer course is not required to be eligible for summer housing.

Evidence Required

When you apply for summer housing, proof of eligibility will be required in one of the following forms: (1) current, valid USC ID; or (2) written confirmation of participation in a USC program. When you sign the summer housing contract and at check-in, a valid photo ID will be required. Additionally, you will need a 10-digit USC ID number to facilitate billing and payment through the Cashier’s Office. The Evidence of Summer Housing Eligibility form must be submitted before a summer assignment is offered. The form is available on the TrojanHousing Web site (housing.usc.edu).

The program allows qualified individuals the opportunity to rent a space in an apartment for the summer from May 15 to Aug. 10. USC residents holding housing contracts for fall 2007 and requiring a place to stay from the end of summer housing to the start of fall housing must submit a written request to their summer housing Customer Service Center by July 31, 2007.

Relocation to another university housing space may be necessary if the summer and fall housing spaces are different. A separate fee is charged for an extension of the summer contract and must be approved in advance by the Customer Service Center.

Most summer residents live in apartments in North University Park, within walking distance of the USC campus. Housing rates for summer 2007 will be listed in the summer housing brochure and on the TrojanHousing Web site (housing.usc.edu).

Only a limited number of university-owned apartments will be available for occupancy during the summer session. A complete listing of open facilities will be included in the summer brochure. The brochure will be available at any Customer Service Center and on the TrojanHousing Web site (housing.usc.edu) beginning in late March. All apartments are furnished, except for household items such as pots and pans or linens. Laundry rooms are available in most buildings and each apartment complex offers a variety of amenities. Refer to the Living at USC brochure and the summer housing brochure for details.

Check-in

Check-in is permitted Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Customer Service Center serving your building. If residents need to check in at any other time, arrangements must be made with a customer service representative at least two weeks prior to arrival.

Housing Application

The application process can be accessed from the TrojanHousing Web site (housing.usc.edu). The priority application deadline for current residents is Friday, April 6. A $30 non-refundable application processing fee is required and can be paid online by credit card.

Applicants are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, with current residents having priority over new applicants prior to Friday, April 6.

Bachelor (one person), studio (one or two persons) and one-bedroom (two persons) accommodations are in heavy demand and short supply, so the probability is that a resident will have more than one roommate, unless additional space in the apartment is bought out by the applicant.

Specific requests for a roommate will be honored whenever possible, as long as applicants adhere to the guidelines for requesting roommates listed in the summer housing brochure.

The contract balance for the duration of a summer stay will be billed to USC students through the Cashier’s Office in King Hall. Any resident who is not a current USC student is required to pay the Cashier’s Office in advance by certified check, money order, credit card or cash. No personal checks will be accepted. Non-USC students must show proof of payment before they may check in to their summer housing assignment.
