Financial Aid Entrance Loan Counseling Requirement

Students applying for a Federal Direct Stafford Loan and/or Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan at USC for the first time must satisfy an entrance loan counseling requirement prior to the first disbursement of their loan. For details, visit usc.edu/financialaid/loans.

Financial Aid Exit Loan Counseling Requirement

Students must satisfy exit loan counseling requirements when they graduate, withdraw or cease to be enrolled at least half-time, if they received any of the following loan funds for study at USC: Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans, Federal Perkins Loans, Health Professions Student Loans or Loans for Disadvantaged Students. Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirement

As you plan your academic courses for spring 2017, keep in mind the number of units you will need to maintain satisfactory academic progress for financial aid. The number of units for which you enroll should allow you to meet GPA requirements, successfully complete 67 percent of cumulative units attempted and complete your degree within the maximum time frame allowed.
