Miki Garcia is executive director of the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, which has recently presented exhibitions such as "True Métier: Christine Gray, Bob Mask, Team Hyperbole, and Ethan Turpin" (an exhibition of the winners from the forum's annual call for entries), "Sonotube: Forms: Contemporary Art and Transport," "Jakob Boeskov: Dad" and "Mark Swanson: Beginning To See the Light."

Previously, she was with the Public Art Fund, New York, where she organized projects by artists such as David Altmejd, Liz Craft, Mark Dion, Josiah McElheny and Dave Muller. She has also been an associate curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, where she was involved in the museum's outreach to Latin American artists. While there, she curated "Design from X to Z: Jerry Hirshberg and Nissan Design America," co-curated "Off Broadway: New Art From Downtown San Diego," and worked closely on "Ultrabaroque: Aspects of Post-Latin American Art."

Garcia has lectured and written extensively, contributing essays to books such as Transactions: Contemporary Latin American and Latino Art (Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego) and Botanica Los Angeles: Latino Popular Religious Art in the City of Angels (University of California, Los Angeles, Fowler).
