			<p class='description'><p class="MsoNormal">CAC Signature Artist David A. Leffel will give a portrait painting demonstration, shedding light on how he breathes life into portraits through the use of composition, brushstrokes, value and color and shares some of his insights and unique perspective. Leffel is recognized by his peers as a painters&rsquo; painter, whose subjects range from figure and portrait to landscape and still-life but his real subject matter is light flowing and drifting over surfaces.&nbsp;</p><p class="MsoNormal">The USC Fisher Museum of Art is proud to host the California Art Club&#39;s 102nd Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, which will be on view from June 2-23, 2013. Any and all events and activities for this exhibition are operated under the auspices of the California Art Club. &nbsp;</p><p class="MsoNormal">Image: David A. <![CDATA[			<p class='summary'>Screening of the documentary film &quot;The Face of Lincoln&quot;.</p>
			<p class='description'><p class="MsoNormal">Screening of the documentary film <em>The Face of Lincoln</em>, which won the 1955 Academy Award for best short film, followed by a lecture by Jean Stern, Director of the Irvine Museum, on the life and works of Robert Merrell Gage. The lecture will look at several of Gage&rsquo;s monumental sculptures, many of which can still be seen in and around Los Angeles. As a professor of sculpture at USC as well as the 13th President of the California Art Club (1932-33), Gage was an important figure in the history of both organizations.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="background-color: #dddddd; font-family: Arial, sans-serif, sans; font-size: 12px">The USC Fisher Museum of Art is proud to host the California Art Club&#39;s 102nd Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, which will be on view from June 2-23, 2013. 			<p class='description'><p class="MsoNormal">Max Ginsburg will give a demonstration, painting from life in the alla prima style, while he discusses his method and techniques, as well as the thinking and concepts that inform his work, and the historical and contemporary basis for his unique brand of social realism.
