Paul Root Wolpe: Is My Mind Mine? Mind-Reading, Memory Suppression, and Other Challenges of Neuroscience
With the advent of implantable brain chips, neural tissue transplants, brain-computer interfaces, and psychopharmaceutical advances, human beings will soon be able to micromanage their moods, enhance cognitive and affective skills and traits, and replace brain functions with brain prosthetics. These technologies are challenging our concepts of privacy, agency, responsibility, free will, and other basic categories of thought. Dr. Paul Root Wolpe will explore the implications of emerging neurotechnologies, for personal privacy, social relationships, and jurisprudence.
