Joseph Pereira, Thornton faculty and principal timpanist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, leads this student ensemble in an evening of John Cage percussion works.

As part of a worldwide celebration in 2012 honoring what would have been John Cage’s 100th birthday, the USC Thornton Percussion Ensemble presents a night of his music.  A pioneer of indeterminacy in music, Cage was a leading figure in the avant garde and one of the most influential composers of the 20th century.
