Classical guitar master and Thornton faculty Pepe Romero offers an up-close peek into his virtuosity in two masterclasses.
Pepe Romero is the second son of "The Royal Family of the Guitar," The Romeros. His father, the legendary Celedonio Romero, was his only guitar teacher. Romero is in demand for his solo recitals and performances with orchestra. His contributions to the field of classical guitar have inspired a number of distinguished composers to write works specifically for him, including Joaquín Rodrigo, Federico Moreno Torroba, Rev. Francisco de Madina, Lorenzo Palomo and Celedonio Romero.
Location Change:
Originally scheduled to take place in Alfred Newman Recital Hall, the masterclasses have moved to the new Joyce J. Cammilleri Auditorium at USC's Brain and Creativity Institute. The auditorium is currently listed as the Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging Center (DNI) on www.usc.edu/maps. The building itself is just south of Cromwell Field and west of Grace Ford Salvatori Hall.
