Historians, art historians, and literary scholars will explore the nature and significance of cultural mediation in painting, theater, and costume.
Portraits of the Traveler: The Art of Mediating Between East and West
The conference is presented in conjunction with a small, focused exhibition in the Huntington Art Gallery titled "French Travlers to the East: Jean de Thévenot and Cultural Exchange in the 16th and 17th Centuries."
