As one of the most consistently successful feature directors in Hollywood, Jon Turteltaub has captured audiences’ attention with his powerful and emotional films, including The Kid, Instinct, Phenomenon, Cool Runnings, While You Were Sleeping and 3 Ninjas. Most recently, Turteltaub produced and directed the blockbusters National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which grossed a combined $800 million in worldwide box office. Continuing his successful partnership with The Walt Disney Company, Jerry Bruckheimer and Nicolas Cage, Turteltaub just released his new film, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which premiered on July 14.
In television, Turteltaub was the executive producer and a director of the CBS hit Jericho. The groundbreaking show made television history when a grassroots fan campaign kept the series on the air for an additional season. Turteltaub also directed and was the executive producer of the CBS thriller Harper’s Island, which aired in spring 2009.
Turteltaub contributed to one of the most successful television miniseries in history, From the Earth to the Moon, when he directed the seventh episode of the series. He was nominated by the DGA for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television.
Jon Turteltaub received his bachelor of arts degree from Wesleyan University and his master’s degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
