The award-winning actress sits down with USC's Howard Rosenberg and students for screenings from her distinguished body of work.

The School of Cinematic Arts invites all USC students to preview its non-major class CTCS-467: Television Symposium. The event is hosted by School of Cinematic Arts Professor Howard Rosenberg as part of his four-unit elective class open to all majors.

The evening will begin with screenings of selected television performances from Helen Mirren's extraordinary career, including Prime Suspect and Elizabeth I. The screenings will be followed by a moderated Q&A with Helen Mirren that will be open for student questions.

About the Class

Television Symposium is a four-unit undergraduate elective course, taught by Pulitzer Prize-winning television critic Howard Rosenberg (Los Angeles Times) on Monday nights, open to all campus majors.

Each week, the class meets television creators, writers, directors, actors and more, from many of your favorite shows, for intimate conversations about the process of television production.

In recent semesters, guests have included Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse and Terry O’Quinn from Lost; David Shore of House; Ken Kwapis, Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski from The Office; Shonda Rhimes and T.R. Knight from Grey’s Anatomy; and many more.

About Check-In and Reservations

This event is open to all USC students, faculty, staff and alumni. The theater will be overbooked to ensure capacity, and the RSVP list will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reserved seating. Please bring a photo ID or print-out of your reservation confirmation, which will be automatically sent to your email account upon successfully making an RSVP through the Web site.

About Parking

The USC School of Cinematic Arts is located at 850 West 34th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007. Parking passes may be purchased for $8 at USC Entrance Gate #5, located at the intersection of West Jefferson Boulevard and McClintock Avenue. We recommend parking in outdoor Lot M or V, or Parking Structure D, at the far end of 34th Street. Please note that Parking Structure D cannot accommodate tall vehicles such as SUVs. Street parking is also available along West Jefferson Boulevard (meters are free after 6 p.m. on weekdays).
