University of Connecticut's Urs Boelsterli works to characterize the cellular and molecular mechanisms of drug-induced liver injury.

Urs Boelsterli, Ph.D., professor and Boehringer Ingelheim Endowed Chair in Mechanistic Toxicology in the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy's Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, has a background in academia and in industry. Broadly, Dr. Boelsterli is interested in mechanistic toxicology. The current focus of his research is in characterizing the cellular and molecular mechanisms of drug-induced liver injury, including genetic and/or acquired susceptibility factors.
