Vote Film 2008: Shampoo

Thursday, October 16, 2008 : 7:00pm
University Park Campus
George Lucas Instructional Building
Room 108
Admission is free.
Starring Warren Beatty, Shampoo slams all kinds of politics — presidential, sexual, business — with equal vengeance.
This November, Americans will have the opportunity to make a dramatic imprint on history by participating in what has been called the most important election of our time. Vote Film 2008 is a dynamic series featuring films and speakers exploring the intersections of politics and media and their impacts on us as filmmakers, film viewers and citizens.
Join us on October 16 for a screening and discussion of Shampoo. The film is something of a naughty cousin to Beatty’s more straightforward political satire, Bulworth.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film’s editor Robert Jones and other special guests.
Written by Warren Beatty and Robert Towne. Produced by Warren Beatty. Directed by Hal Ashby and edited by Robert Jones. The score is by Paul Simon.
Organized by Brenda Goodman (Cinematic Arts). Co-sponsored by Cinematheque 108.
