Political Countdown: A Psychoanalytic Dialogue on the Election

Saturday, October 11, 2008 : 1:00pm to 4:00pm
USC Orange County Center
2300 Michelson Drive
Irvine, CA 92612
$50. Class offers three CEUs/CMEs.
A distinguished panel of diverse voices tackles the interface between the political and the psychoanalytic and how it impacts the clinical.
How do we create the psychic and social space, inside and outside of the consultation room, to think and reflect rather than react to issues in which we agree or disagree? How do we open the collective space for creative dialogue in a time that seems to call for "definite answers" and mandates? How do we direct our attention as mental health professionals to having a voice in social justice issues at a time of terror and war? Please join us for an unusual and stimulating afternoon.
