The narrative of a painting is more than its story; narrative involves the interaction of all the elements of painting. You will learn how to enter and understand what is happening in paintings and how to complete them with your eyes and mind by discovering the elements of narrative. Students will receive study images to illustrate each element. Our last session, Wednesday, April 18, 2012, will be a class field trip to the Norton Simon museum to look at paintings and practive what we've learned. Instructor: Karen Lansky, MA.
