Question: How can I become a member of the Daily Trojan or El Rodeo staff?
Answer: Applications are available from Student Publications at the end of each semester for the Daily Trojan. Applications for El Rodeo are available at the end of the spring semester and at the beginning of the fall semester. The editors-in-chief of the publications conduct interviews for qualified candidates.
Tommy Trojan
“The bronze statue of a Trojan warrior standing on the corner of University and 36th was a gift of the Alumni Association in 1930. This warrior, whom we know as Tommy Trojan, is the symbol of SC. Unfortunately, due to the pranks of inmates of other institutions, Tommy suffers many indignities. At times he can be seen wearing vivid shades of blue or green and at other times his sword is mangled beyond recognition or is missing entirely. ”
